![]() Not much difference in the number of errors. This can be as simple as a missing bar line or a subtle voicing error. The pink measures are those that have some sort of rhythm error. I counted up three kinds of errors: "pink" measures, text recognition errors and lyrics recognition errors. It was about average in terms of clarity and linearity. Maybe if I had done more the results would have been different. I only did the first two pages of the opening scene. ![]() I sent it through the new version of the software and re-recognized it with my 10.3.3 version. I used the same image file that I had scanned in a year ago. Correcting these takes the most time in the whole process. I was particularly concerned with recognition errors. I have been waiting for a new and improved version before I tackled Carmen and Boheme. I have scanned in the complete piano vocal score of Mozart's Don Giovanni. I did a quick test of the new version X2 Pro against my installed X Pro version. This is typical and yet, SmartScore will flag the measure as a "potential" problem since it sums the total of beats in EACH voice and matches that sum with the default time signature. For example, in 4/4 time, a secondary voice will often begin on the 3rd beat with no prior rests. Often, publishers will drop rests in secondary and tertiary voices so as not to visually clog a measure with a lot of rests. NOTE Regarding SmartScore's Error Measures.Īgorante counted the number of SmartScore's pink (error) measures as an indicator of how many errors were made during recognition. SmartScore X2 has always supported these features. It's up to the importing application to properly interpret the data coming in.ī) "PhotoScore has a couple features that SmartScore should emulate: MusicXML contains a staff attribute that describes measures per staff. ![]() It can be found here: We think you will be pleasantly surprised with recognition improvements.Ī) "There is nothing in MusicXML that tells you if the first stave of the printed score has four measures or three." ![]() This is in repy to Agorante's post of April 7, 2013ġ) Please install SmartScore 10.5.8 update.
